Farmageddon Update!

Last Updated on September 24, 2010 by James Dziezynski

I’m getting strangely excited about pushing my state high points count over 40 with this November’s proposed “Farmageddon Tour”! I could stand to gain 6 or 7 state highpoints as well as get a few more insights for chapters on my new book, which is non-highpoints related.

Fremont the border collie at Missouri's State Highpoint

Last year's summit of Taum Sauk is my most recent high point, though it feels like a lifetime ago. Look how small Fremont is!

Now I’m guessing that it’s going to be hard to convince any of my friends to join because, let’s face it, you’re probably looking at 40+ hours in a car with a smelly guy and his smelly dog. And you’ll probably be pretty smelly too! Your reward: seemingly flat “high points”, a few visits to cowtowns, and sleeping upside down in a cramped truck. It’s the toughest job you’ll ever love, especially if you like looking at corn. Or at least the empty fields where they grow corn.

But if anyone is interested… (or if you know any pals in the mid-west that might offer a shower to a dude and his border collie)…

Again though, adventure is adventure and I bet I can find some good stuff especially up north! I’m looking at Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin with perhaps a bonus of North Dakota. It leaves Arkansas as the odd state out, which I’ll have to figure out how to get to down the road. Let the planning begin! And suggest your audio books now!
